I think that mass hysteria is possible, but it’s normally associated with an intense event happening and an immediate reaction by a mob.
I firmly believe Ouija boards are very dangerous to those who have a belief in the supernatural, which would be pretty much anyone using the board. Why use it if you don’t believe?
I think it acts as a focal point for the people playing with it. They are using spiritual energy to try and get a reaction. Spiritual energy is the most powerful energy out there, so it’s no wonder many make some type of connection when using it.
When I was a teen I used it a lot. I did have unusual things happen, and had a poltergeist follow me for years, until I denied it and prayed for protection from God and Jesus.
I count myself lucky that nothing really bad ever happened and that I was able to rid myself of it so easily.
So I’m glad to hear you stopped using it, and hope others heed your words.
It’s natural to be curious, but find other ways to research the paranormal. Groups that do this type of research and use God’s protection are a good place to start.
