Ghost lights or spook lights is a very bizarre paranormal phenomena and one I have been fascinated with for many years. In regards to most paranormal phenomena it’s very hard to get actual real evidence. But these spook lights, or ghost lights are real, they are there and as of yet there is no real explanation as to why, nobody knows what is causing this. These mysterious lights can be found all over the world and they always appear in the exact location. And today we are going to go over some of the best ghost lights of all time, and hopefully get one step closer to solving this awesome paranormal mystery.
Mekong River Lights:
One of the most famous ghost lights occurs in Thailand along the Mekong River. These lights mysteriously appear in late autumn and have a higher chance of appearing during a full moon. More than 400,000 people flock to the Mekong River each and every year hoping to get a glimpse of these mysterious lights. Every year there are estimated to be anywhere from 200 to 800 of this fiery orbs coming out of the Mekong River and flying into the night sky.
Now since this phenomena has been going on for eons the locals believe that these are not lights at all, but fireballs coming from a Naga, a serpent that lives in the river. Scientist believe the cause of these mysterious lights are methane gas, and that might just be true. But the thing that shocks me is they still do not know for sure what is really causing this. In this day and age the world’s top scientist still have no real answer for these lights. And if the cause of these lights are methane gas why does it only happen in autumn when the moon is full. A lot of people believe the current theory’s from the worlds leading scientist just don’t add up, only deepening the mystery of the Mekong River lights.
The Maco Light:
The United States has tons of verified ghost lights, and the Maco Light use to be one of the most famous a century ago. Even the president Grover Cleveland came face to face with this phenomena. Pretty much every ghost light has a legend behind hit and the Maco light is no exception. It is said that in 1867 a railroad worker tragically died on the railroad tracks and on most nights you can see his spirit roaming the tracks looking for his body.
The Maco light use to appear very frequently in the late 19th century and early 20th century. Over the decades the sightings has slowed down a bit but there is still plenty of sightings of the Maco Light today.
The Brown Mountain Lights:
The Brown Mountain lights is huge, it’s one of the worlds most famous unexplainable lights. Even the United States government has, and still are investigating these lights. Just like most ghost lights you can and will be able to witness these lights if your patient enough. According to my research these lights appear almost every single night. Scientist have so many theory’s on what the Brown Mountain lights are, but still to this day they are just theory’s. No one really knows the cause of the Brown Mountain lights, a lot of people suspect extraterrestrial activity.
The Hornet Spook Light:
This is indeed my favorite spook light. A couple of years ago I was watching a documentary on it. The people making the documentary didn’t expect anything to happen. About an hour or so into their investigation the Hornet Spook light revealed itself. They couldn’t believe it and they started to go crazy. The first thing the documentary crew did was try to get close to it, but as they would get closer and closer the light would just disappear.
Then when walking back the light would reappear. No one has ever been able to come face to face with this light. Just like the Brown Mountain lights the United States government have and still are investigating the cause of this. Some of these sightings can be explained by headlights, but the real hornet spook light is not the result of any human made light source. Now of course there are plenty of theory’s, but no real conclusion as of yet.
The Mountain Of The Dead:
The Mountain Of The Dead is the location of one of the biggest and creepiest mysteries of all time, the Dyatlov Pass incident. The Dyatlov Pass mystery is something I will cover in another video, but the location where all those hikers died is a place known to the locals as the Mountain Of The Dead. Ever since modern man inhabited this unforgivable region there have been sightings of odd lights in the sky. The natives of that region will never venture to the location where theses mysterious lights are seen.
And the ones that do never return. Making the Mountain Of The Dead Lights the scariest ghost lights on the planet. This is one ghost light you do not want to seek. The Mountain Of The Dead lights are very similar to the Brown Mountain lights. Some spook lights seem to be more like extraterrestrial activity and other seems to be more like a ghost or maybe an unknown natural phenomena. The one major similarity they all have is they always reappear night after night in the exact same location.
There are so many ghost lights or spook lights in the world today and nobody knows what the heck is causing these lights to appear night after night. I would guess that the cause probably has to do with some sort of natural phenomena that we just haven’t figured out yet. But whatever the case maybe I would love to go to one of these locations and see it first hand for myself.
The people who flock to Thailand each and every year to check out the Mekong River lights say that when they come face to face with these fiery glowing orbs its like a religious experience. No matter how many theory’s there are about all these awesome and mysterious lights, in the end they are only theory’s. Making the ghost lights phenomena one of my favorite paranormal mysteries.
