Every year thousands of people go missing. Most of the time it’s sinister, kidnappings, murders, etc.. But sometimes it’s not so easy to explain. And today we are going to discuss some of the most bizarre cases of people just vanishing into thin air.
Charles Ashmore
It was a very cold winter night in 1878, Charles’s father told young Charles to go get some water from the well, the well was not very far. This simple task should have only took a minute or two to complete. After a couple of minutes passed by Charles’s family thought that maybe he fell on some ice and injured himself. So they went to go look for him. Charles still remains missing until this very day.
What makes this case so bizarre is Charles footprints were very easy to track, as a lot of fresh snow fell on that cold November night. His footprints simply stopped halfway to the well, and there were no other footprints of any kind anywhere in sight. It’s as if Charles simply vanished into thin air.
James Worson
Here is another very fascinating case. In 1873 James Worson a shoemaker in England bet his friends that he could run non stop from leamington spa to Coventry.
The distance between the two is 17 miles. James’s friends started rolling on the floor laughing, they indeed took this bet as they knew James couldn’t complete this task. James was very determined to prove his friends wrong so off he went. He started to jog at a very wise and comfortable pace.
James was doing incredible well for the first couple of miles. James’s friends were right behind him on their horses, they wanted to keep a close eye on James and make sure he didn’t cheat. All a sudden James tripped on something and vanished right into thin air before he hit the ground. James’s friends could not believe their eyes. They raced back to leamington spa and told the police what happened. After a huge investigation the police ruled out foul play, James is still a missing person to this very day.
I to highly doubt foul play was involved because who would make up a story like that
The Prussian Prison Vanishing
This next case is one of the best documented stories of a person vanishing into thin air. The year was 1815, the location a Prussian prison. A man was sentenced to prison for assuming he’s boss’s identity after he died from a stroke. The man was walking in chains with his fellow inmates, in full view of all the guards. Slowly the man started to fade. The inmates and guards noticed that this man was slowly disappearing. Eventually he completely vanished in front of everyone and he has never been seen or heard of since. What makes this case so interesting is all the guards, and all the inmates witnessed this spine chilling event first hand.
Mr. And Mrs. Crumpston
This is a very odd story, all though this family didn’t disappear it could shed some light on this phenomena, that is if this phenomena actually exist. In 1873 the Crumpston’s arrived in Bristol for a nice and much needed holiday. They booked a room at the Victoria hotel, while resting in their bedroom they started to hear very strange noises that seem to be coming from underneath the floor. They even asked the landlady if she to could also hear these strange noises. The landlady said yes but didn’t really shed any light on what was causing it. They thought her reply was a bit odd.
That night the strange noises got so loud it woke them up. All a sudden the floor seemed to disappear right beneath them and some unknown force started pulling them in. They were screaming for there lives, somehow they managed to pull themselves out and escape out the window. They ran to the railway station as they thought someone or something was trying to kidnap them. While waiting for a train the police showed up and arrested them for disorderly conduct. The Crumpston’s were scared to death.
The court concluded that the Crumpston’s had suffered a collective hallucination and let them go. Even to this day people still wonder what really happened the Crumpston’s that night in the Victoria hotel.
David Lang
The disappearance of David Lang is my all time favorite story of a man completely disappearing. In 1880 Mr. Lang was out in his fields as his wife and daughters were close by playing. Arriving to their house was a judge by the name of August Peck as well as his brother in law. David saw the men approaching and started to walk to the house.
All a sudden David’s wife started to scream in total terror, David in mid step just vanished. The wife, the judge, and the brother in law all witnessed this. David Lang just disappeared right in front of their eyes. Even though they told the police that he just vanished into thin air a search party was still dispatched. After a very long and extensive search the search party didn’t find a single trace of David.
David lang’s wife never recovered. The terrifying thing about this incident is there is a strange circle at the exact spot where David Lang disappeared. No animals or even insects will get close to this circle. As well as nothing grows within this mysterious circle. The children told their mother that one day they heard there fathers cry’s coming from the circle.
Making people believe that David Lang somehow got trapped into another dimension.
I will probably cover those in my monster sightings video’s. Very creepy stuff!
